The 2020 NBA Playoffs continue on Saturday as the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Houston Rockets in Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals. The game tips off at 8 p.m. ET from the NBA bubble in Orlando. Daily Fantasy players are starting to hone in on the subtle differences created by basketball in the bubble. This postseason has been a defensive grind and shot creation has been at a premium, which is why it’s been somewhat puzzling that James Harden has taken a dozen shots or fewer in two of the last three games.

Harden has been able to supplement his scoring with 40 trips to the free-throw line in the last three games, but does he belong in your NBA DFS lineups if he isn’t a threat to score 40 or more? Meanwhile, finding role players in the NBA DFS player pool who are poised for a big night on Saturday will be critical as you look to turn a profit in NBA daily Fantasy tournaments on FanDuel and DraftKings. Before locking in any NBA DFS lineups on Saturday, be sure to see the core lineup selections, player pool and NBA DFS strategy from Mike McClure, a DFS pro who has won almost $2 million.

McClure is also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account. This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.

McClure rolled through the 2018-19 NBA season, producing multiple lineups that led to huge returns for followers, including as much as 40x on FanDuel and 84x on DraftKings.

He saw multiple huge cashes again early in the 2019-20 NBA season and got 2020 off to a blistering start with his optimal lineup returning at least 7x on DraftKings on three of the first five days of the new year. He’s returned 4x or more multiple times since that point. Anybody following him has seen huge returns.

On Friday, McClure identified Celtics guard Marcus Smart as one of his top picks. The result: Smart had 16 points, two rebounds, six assists, a steal and a block — putting up nearly 40 points and an over 5x return on DraftKings.

Now, he’s turned his attention to Saturday’s NBA DFS slate. Head to SportsLine to see his optimal NBA DFS picks.

McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Sept. 12

For Saturday, McClure is high on Lakers forward Anthony Davis. After struggling at times earlier in the NBA restart, Davis has been a massive presence in this series against the Rockets, using his size to attack Houston’s small lineup on the inside.

Davis has posted four consecutive double-doubles against the Rockets and he’s now averaging 27.5 points, 12.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 blocks per game during this series. Davis has been good for at least 54.5 points on DraftKings in each game so far. You’ll want to get potential 50-60 point scorers into your NBA DFS lineups regardless of price in a single-game format.

Part of his optimal NBA DFS strategy for Saturday includes Rockets guard Russell Westbrook. Westbrook has always been a volume shooter and he’s actually led the Rockets in shots taken in three of four games this series with only Eric Gordon edging him out in Game 2.

And while Westbrook has had an up-and-down series from a shooting standpoint, he has managed to get to at least 24 points in three of four games so far and he can produce in a number of other ways. Westbrook is averaging 8.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game, and even though he’s only dished out 19 assists, he’s always a triple-double threat. There’s always some risk with a streaky shooter like Westbrook, but the high upside is tough to leave out of your lineups on Saturday.

How to set your NBA DFS lineups for Sept. 12

McClure is also targeting another player who has a dream matchup on Saturday. The stars are aligning for him to return 50, even 60 points on DraftKings and FanDuel. This pick could be the difference between winning your tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing. You can only see who it is here.
