The 2020 NFL season is finally here, and NFL DFS players can become instant millionaires on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel by correctly picking lineups that hit big in Week 1. That means finding the right mix of superstar talent and high-value role players who have strong Week 1 NFL DFS matchups is key. Superstars like Carolina’s Christian McCaffrey and Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson are at the top of the NFL DFS player pool, but are Chargers quarterback Tyrod Taylor and Tampa Bay running back Leonard Fournette better values for your Week 1 NFL DFS lineups?

Whether you’re going with established stars or rolling the dice on situational matchups to fill your daily Fantasy football rosters, you need the best advice possible. Before finalizing any NFL daily Fantasy picks for Week 1, be sure to check out the latest NFL DFS advice, stacks and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy guru Mike McClure, who has nearly $2 million in career DFS winnings.

He’s crushed his NFL DFS picks in 2019, finishing as high as the top 1 percent of tournaments on DraftKings and returning as much as 40x return in some higher-stakes tournaments. He then continued his roll in the postseason, cashing on every single lineup he posted for the divisional round. Anyone who followed him saw some huge returns.

Now, he has turned his attention to the Week 1 Sunday DFS player pool and locked in his top daily Fantasy football picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NFL DFS picks for Week 1

One of McClure’s top NFL DFS picks for the Sunday main slate in Week 1 is Washington running back Antonio Gibson ($4,000 on DraftKings, $4,600 on FanDuel). During his final season at Memphis in 2019, Gibson excelled as a runner (8.4 yards per carry) and receiver (38-735-8). That puts the rookie third-round pick as arguably the best three-back option in Washington’s committee.

Gibson and Washington face the Eagles on Sunday, a defense that allowed 241.8 passing yards per game and could be without defensive end Derek Barnett (hamstring) and defensive end Javon Hargrave (pectoral). He’s a nearly min-priced starting running back on a team that should be able to move the ball.

Part of McClure’s optimal NFL DFS strategy also includes rostering Eagles running back Miles Sanders ($6,800 on FanDuel, $6,300 on DraftKings). Sanders has been battling a hamstring injury during training camp, but is likely to play on Sunday against Washington, a matchup you can’t afford to miss out on even though he’s questionable.

Washington ranked 31st in the NFL against the run in 2019, and Sanders dominated them by the time he was Philadelphia’s established starter in the second meeting of the season. Sanders had 19 carries for 122 yards and a touchdown while adding six catches for 50 yards and another score through the air. It was Sanders’ only 100-yard rushing game of the season and his lone two-touchdown performance as a rookie.

How to set Week 1 DFS lineups

McClure is also targeting a player who could go off for massive numbers on Sunday because of a dream matchup. This pick could be the difference between winning your tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing.
