According to some NBA executives, the Milwaukee Bucks are in line to trade for CP3. The Point God had a great season, leading the Thunder to the playoffs.

The Bucks got knocked out of the playoffs today, losing Game 5 by a 103-94 margin to the Miami Heat to lose the series 4-1. Their execution down the stretch in 4th quarters has repeatedly been questioned.

The Bucks have suffered from Giannis making bad decisions in the paint. Many opine that Giannis needs to operate with an elite point guard to bring out his full potential in play.

Chris Paul to Milwaukee Bucks this offseason

It will be difficult for the Bucks to initiate a trade for Paul without packaging All Star Khris Middleton, however. Middleton finished the series as the top scorer, and his loss will be a humongous hit to the Bucks’ spacing.

The only other way to make the salaries work would be to package both Brook Lopez and Eric Bledsoe. Both of them are superfluous to the Thunder’s roster needs.

This offseason will be among the Bucks’ most instrumental ones in their history. Trading arguably their best player since Lew Alcindor will not be an option till Giannis himself states that he wants away from his team. So far, their postseason issues can be put down to underwhelming player and coaching performances rather than their front office. They would like to keep it that way.

If Giannis pairs up with a guard of Chris Paul’s quality, the Bucks could be a massive force to reckon with in the playoffs next season. CP3 can guide the play and Giannis can then explode to the rim without worrying a lot about playmaking.

It would be a mouthwatering prospect to the see them operate on the court together, but the Bucks will need to first ensure that they keep hold of Giannis Antetokounmpo.
