Who to pick for Fantasy Football 2020: The NFL season is set to start in a day, and last-minute fantasy drafts are still happening. Here’s a guide to drafting the best NFL fantasy team.

NFL Fantasy Running Backs:

The safest bets to go for are Christian McCaffery, Saquon Barkley, and Ezekiel Elliott. CMC averaged the most fantasy points for a running back last season. Meanwhile, Zeke and Barkley checked in at 4 and 10 respectively.

Taking Barkley over someone like Derrick Henry makes more sense. You can count on him to have more receiving yards and Henry will certainly regress. He is coming off a season in which he had 303 carries, and historically running backs don’t do well after seasons like that.

However, there are a few sleepers to look out for. First, watch for Colts’ running back, Marlon Mack, one of the most explosive players in the league. Additionally, Devin Singletary from the Bills may be a breakout player.

NFL Fantasy Quarterbacks:

The last two NFL MVP’s top this list. Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes are surefire bets. One thing to look out for however is that Jackson likely won’t enjoy the same rushing season once again.

Further, even drafting someone like Deshaun Watson early could be a high-value pick. With the Texans losing Hopkins, Watson may be an overlooked player in many drafts.

Moreover, keep an eye out for Ryan Tannehill. Simulations are high on him after his successful second half last year that took the Titans to the playoffs.

NFL Fantasy Wide Receivers:

Michael Thomas and Julio Jones are the models for consistency here. Meanwhile, expect Chris Godwin and Mike Evans to regress as Brady (never much of a deep passer) takes over.

Additionally, players like Deebo Samuel and DK Metcalf could see breakout seasons. They both enjoyed successful postseasons last year and will become bigger parts of their offenses.

Sleepers to look out for include Dallas rookie CeeDee Lamb and Bears veteran Allen Robinson.

NFL Fantasy DST:

San Francisco, Pittsburgh, and Indianapolis are projected to be the top three fantasy defenses as per Yahoo. All three teams bring strong defensive lines with opportunistic secondaries that can force turnovers.

It’s never a good idea to expect a defense to perform at the same level they did a year before. For instance, look at the Chicago Bears last year. They had a good but not great defense in 2019, finishing 17th in fantasy points.

Thus, picking the Patriots DST would not be a good idea. Additionally, key players like Dont’a Hightower and Patrick Chung have opted out.

However, a sleeper team to look out for are the Los Angeles Chargers. Safety Derwin James is expected to be back after missing 11 games and he will certainly bolster a unit that added Chris Harris Jr. and Linval Joseph. Of course, that’s without mentioning Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram.
