Lakers’ big and 2x NBA Champion, Javale McGee is suffering from an ankle sprain and might not feature in tonight’s game 3 vs Rockets.
Javale McGee, the usual starting center for the Lakers had to exit Game 2 with just 8 minutes played due to an ankle injury.
The Lakers say that JaVale McGee is experiencing left ankle pain and will not return. He’s played 8 mins and so far Dwight is a DNP-CD. They’ll close this thing out with AD at center it looks like.

The Lakers finished the rest of the ball game depending upon their small-ball lineup, with AD as the center. The Lakers’ small-ball lineup worked out pretty well for coach Vogel as they were able to take on the Rockets better than their usual lineup.

However, it is a noticeable point that Harden was driving into the basket lesser when one of the two Lakers bigs were on the floor. Ever since both McGee and Howard were sitting out, Harden attacked and finished at the rim a lot more.
Javale McGee listed as questionable for Game 3
Javale McGee seemed to have injured his ankle while celebrating a basket from LeBron James and is now listed as ‘questionable’ on the Lakers injury list for tonight’s game 3 vs Rockets.
McGee had exited Game 2 due to pain in his left ankle. Coach Vogel mentioned in the post-game conference that they would have an MRI on his ankle and his condition is being monitored as he receives constant treatment.
JaVale McGee is going to be listed as questionable for tomorrow night’s game with the ankle injury. Meanwhile, they’ll get more tests later today on Dion Waiters (groin).

McGee looked better in yesterday’s practice as he was moving around without showing signs of pain, in a light shootout.
Worth pointing out JaVale McGee, who the Lakers listed out with left ankle pain last night and Frank Vogel said would get an MRI, is on both feet during a light team shooting session today. pic.twitter.com/qgMRfyl1Fh

How does the future of the Laker Big-Men look in the remainder of the series?
Coach Vogel said he would not sit out his big men in the rest of the series. He has a plan for them and as to how they can contribute on the floor. Coach further elaborated and mentioned that the centers are being trained to play against the Houston players, who are not like the usual big men they match up against.
It would certainly be interesting to see Coach Vogel’s plan being executed tonight in the Game 3 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals matchup.
