Monday’s MLB DFS player pool has plenty of intriguing options, as 20 teams take the diamond across the country. That means players like Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon, who leads MLB with a .458 batting average, and Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis, who leads the National League with eight home runs, will be in action. The stocked slate of games means lots of exciting action in MLB DFS tournaments, cash games and 50-50s on sites like FanDuel and DraftKings.

But with all that talent in action Monday, how do you formulate your MLB DFS lineups? Do you invest big on Blackmon and Tatis, or do you search for value at other positions? Before making your MLB DFS picks for Monday, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice and MLB DFS stacks from SportsLine DFS expert Mike McClure.

When it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

His model led him to some massive returns from his MLB DFS picks in 2019, producing daily Fantasy baseball lineups on SportsLine that returned as much as 30x. He also finished in the top 1 percent of tournaments four times and the top 0.1 percent of tournaments twice last season.

On Friday, McClure was high on Angels outfielder Mike Trout. The result: Trout went 2-for-5 with a 440-foot home run and two RBIs on his 29th birthday. Anybody who built their lineup around him was well on their way to a profitable day.

Now, with the 60-game 2020 MLB schedule continuing on Monday, Aug. 10, McClure has locked in his top MLB daily Fantasy picks. Head to SportsLine now to see them.

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Aug. 10

One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Monday is Rockies outfielder Trevor Story at $6,100 on DraftKings and $4,200 on FanDuel. Story has smacked five home runs so far this season, good for fifth in MLB, and Story’s .898 OPS ranks him among the top 15 players in baseball. Story’s early stats are right in line with his 2019 production, in which he hit 35 homers and scored 111 runs.

Story clearly loves hitting at Coors Field, as he his averaging .308 at the plate with three home runs at Colorado’s home ballpark this season. And with the Diamondbacks coming to Denver, a team Story abused last season to the tune of a .412/.474/.676/1.151 slash line, it makes plenty of sense to roster him in MLB DFS formats.

Part of McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy Monday includes rostering Diamondbacks third baseman Eduardo Escobar at $3,700 at DraftKings and $3,600 at FanDuel. Escobar has played well in recent days, homering, driving in three runs and scoring three runs in his last five games. Still, Escobar’s .164 start to the season has some fading the 12-year veteran.

Not McClure on Monday. Instead, he sees that Escobar homered five times — all at Coors Field — and drove in 17 runs last season against the Rockies. Plus, Colorado is sending out Jon Gray, a right-hander against whom Escobar has homered against and driven in three runs in nine career at-bats. The investment is low for Escobar on Monday, and the MLB DFS potential is strong enough for McClure to recommend him in all formats.
