Warriors' Klay Thompson out at least one week

Warriors’ All-Star guard Klay Thompson will miss the next 7-10 days with a sprained right ankle. Thompson suffered the injury Monday in the 108-105 win against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Thompson injured his ankle late in the third period in last night’s game after landing on Tarik Black’s foot. He did not immediately go to the locker room, however. Thompson played through the injury and went to the locker room to get his ankle taped later in the game. He then returned and finished the contest, scoring a game-high 26 points.

This injury comes at a terrible time for the Warriors who are scheduled to play the East-leading Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, in what should be a promising game.

For Atlanta, Kyle Korver is expected to miss the game with a broken nose, which takes the two sharpshooters from each team out of the game.

Klay Thompson should be re-evaluated in a week. In the meantime, Shaun Livingston, Justin Holiday, and Leandro Barbosa are all expected to see more minutes.
