Tyrann Mathieu : Former LSU Tiger makes a unique, heat-testing PSA video for PETA - Watch

Tyrann Mathieu teamed up with PETA for the above public service announcement illustrating how dangerous it is to leave a dog inside of a car on a hot summer.

In a video that PETA released, Tyrann Mathieu subjects himself to the extreme temperatures of a parked car in direct sunlight. Throughout the ordeal, Mathieu repeatedly fans himself to cool off, which ultimately proves ineffective.

By the fourth minute, the temperature has reached 105 degrees and Mathieu is seen wiping sweat off of his forehead.

“I seriously couldn’t imagine leaving my dog in a car like this,” Mathieu says in the video. “If you’re going to make a dog a part of your family, then make him a part of your family.”

By the sixth minute, the temperature has climbed to 113 degrees.

“I can’t wait to get out of this car,” he says.

He finally gets out after eight minutes and by then the temperature has soared to 120 degrees. Mathieu is drenched in sweat as he accepts a water bottle that is placed in his hand. It’s worth noting that, as the video points out, dogs can’t sweat like Mathieu is able to, so they can’t cool themselves off in extreme temperatures.
