Two dead infants found in storage unit - Watch

Two dead infants found in California storage unit, a mother is under investigation after deputies found the remains of two infants in a Colfax storage locker, Placer County deputies said Thursday.

The discovery was made Nov. 25 after a woman purchased the contents of the storage unit during an auction.

When she entered the unit, the woman was overwhelmed by a strong, foul odor, and notified authorities.

A sheriff’s deputies eventually traced the odor to a storage container, which Erwin said contained the body of a fetus or small infant. The body was inside a plastic bag.

The second body was discovered only after coroner’s investigators began processing the container.

Autopsies were performed on the infants. Authorities are still trying to determine if the infants were twins, Erwin said.

Anyone with additional details about the bodies is urged to call Det. Mike Simmons at (530) 889-7894.
