Turkeys Trigger Crash - Video : Motorcycle rider hurt crashing into car that stopped for turkeys

Police say a flock of turkeys crossing the road stopped traffic and triggered a crash that injured a motorcyclist near Pittsburgh.

The incident happened at 4:10 p.m. near the intersection of Connor Road and Terrace Drive when several vehicles traveling westbound on Connor Road quickly stopped to let about a half dozen turkeys cross the road, the Deputy Chief said. The 19-year-old was unable to stop in time and lost control.

He was taken to UPMC Mercy with moderate injuries to his upper body and legs, the Deputy Chief said. The motorcyclist had not been wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
