Teacher Drags Student Into Pool Against Her Will, A cell phone video captured a California teacher trying to drag a student into a swimming pool during P.E. class.
Denny Peterson, a P.E. teacher at Edison High School in Stockton, has since been placed on leave after video surfaced of him trying to force a 14-year-old girl into a pool during a gym class in August.
The girl reportedly had just had her hair done for an event she was attending later that night, and didn’t want to go into the pool.
Another student recorded the video on their cellphone.
News 10 reports that after the incident, Peterson was placed on leave for a month, but was later reassigned to a different campus.
Peterson is now facing a misdemeanor charge of corporal injury to a child and is now on paid leave.
“No means no and stop means stop. This isn’t a situation where she’s attacking a teacher and he’s defending himself,” the girl’s lawyer, Glibert Somera, told the station. “When a woman or a 14-year-old girl says no, it means no.”
