Steve Smith: Baltimore Ravens WR Out For Season With Torn Achilles - Details

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. is out for the season with a torn Achilles, coach John Harbaugh announced.

Smith dragged his right leg as he was tackled and immediately pointed to the back of his ankle as he gestured to trainers, who helped him off the field. After the game, Coach John Harbaugh confirmed the worst.

“Steve Smith has torn his Achilles’,” he said, “and will be gone for the rest of the season.”

The injury could be a career-ender as well for the ex-Carolina Panther, given that Smith has said this would be his final year in the NFL.

Earlier Sunday, the Ravens waved off teams inquiring about the 36-year-old’s availability ahead of this week’s trade deadline.
