The Tennessee Titans have agreed to a multiyear deal with offensive tackle Michael Oher, a former first-round draft pick who spent his first five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun:

Former Ravens offensive tackle Michael Oher is joining the Tennessee Titans on a four-year, $20 million contract that includes $9.5 million guaranteed, according to a league source.

Oher visited the Titans on Friday and was scheduled to visit the Oakland Raiders on Saturday, according to a source.

Now, the 2009 first-round draft pick has left the Ravens and the Memphis native is back in the state where he grew up.

Oher maintained dialogue with the Ravens and they never ruled out bringing him back, according to sources, with a one-year contract discussed if he hadn’t landed the long-term extension with the Titans.
By no means is this a bad is for the Ravens, as they needed to find a replacement for Oher even if he was brought back. He’s ben ranked among the worst right tackles in the NFL since moving their. His best year as a pro was actually as a rookie when he was at left tackle (hence The Blindside).

Either way, he wasn’t succeeding in Baltimore, so a change of scenery may have been in his best interest. He’s a better pass-blocker, which didn’t really suit Baltimore’s balanced offense, but in Tennessee with Ken Wisenhunt, he may be put in a better position to succeed.
