Alexi Breeden, 18, turned herself in to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office after the shocking image of her dangling toddler went viral. It is believed the child’s father posted Breeden’s photo after the former lovers got into an argument.
The image came back to haunt Breeden when she got into an argument with her son’s father, 18-year-old Anthony Welch.
As an act of revenge, Welch, who doesn’t live with Breeden and the boy, posted the image on Facebook with the message: “Everybody think that alexis is a good mom this is what she sent me. tell me wat the fuk yall think (sic).”
Shocked Facebook users notified the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office, and according to WTRV-TV, authorities launched an investigation into the incident.
“We had it assigned to a criminal investigation detective through the child victim unit. When she responded, she did an investigation and found that it wasn’t a nail, it was actually a planter hook that the child was hanging from. But the child was absolutely fine,” Sgt. James Konicki with the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office told WTRV-TV.
After a warrant was issued for her arrest, Breeden turned herself in on October 30. Authorities claim the image was snapped in early September.
Then Breeden went on to violate a protective order and posted a message about the situation on Facebook.
“The cops came to my house twice last night and saw that he was fine,” she wrote. “They think this was immature and dumb of me but he saw I was playing and no one needs to know everything going on because some of you aren’t parents and no one knows the full story. Mind your own f******business.”
This isn’t Breeden’s first run-in with the law. “She recently pleaded guilty to an assault and battery charge against a family member,” according to WTRV-TV.
