Tess Holliday’s name landed in plenty of headlines after it was announced she’d signed with Milk, making her the first 5’5″, size-22 model to be connected to a major agency. And the girl got to work fast, with two new ad campaigns just being revealed.

She’s starring in plus-size retailer Torrid’s latest look book, modeling a range of spring clothes that hit stores on March 25. In a video shot and shared along the pieces, she talks about liking sexy, fitted clothes and says she’s “a firm believer that everyone should dress how they want to dress.”
Designer Monif Clarke also tapped Tess for her Sea by Monif C. swim campaign after realizing she was a brand fan. “Tess has been wearing our clothes for over two years, well before she was making headlines,” she told me via email. “As a plus-size woman, I want to see clothes that fit me on women that look like me. We’ve always used models size 14 and up, and for this campaign, we used an even broader range, sizes 14 to 22. It’s important that all of my customers realize they can look and feel beautiful in a two-piece, and I think Tess communicates that perfectly.”
