Sandwich Shop Owner's Response To Dumpster Diver Will Make Your Heart Melt

‘Dumpster diver’ offered free meal at PB Jams sandwich shop by owner Ashley Jiron

When sandwich shop owner noticed that someone had been going through the rubbish outside, she got on her computer and typed them a note.

‘To the person going through our trash for their next meal,’ it began.

‘You’re a human being and worth more than a meal from a dumpster. Please come in during operating hours for a classic Pb&j, fresh veggies, and a cup of water at no charge. No questions asked.’

Her act of compassion has gone viral.

Pictures of the sign on the window of P. B. Jams in Oklahoma spread rapidly across Reddit and Instagram, drawing praise from around the world for Ms. Jiron, who said simply that the thought of someone having to go through rubbish to find their next meal ‘hurt her’ and she had to act.

‘I think we’ve all been in that position where we needed someone’s help and we just needed someone to extend that hand and if I can be that one person to extend that hand to another human being then I will definitely do it,’ he told KFOR.
