Ronda Rousey: MMA Fighter says she supports Bernie Sanders for president

Ronda Rousey is coming out swinging in support of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).

In an interview published this week in Maxim magazine, Rousey pledged her support to Bernie Sanders in the upcoming 2016 presidential election.

“I’m voting for Bernie Sanders, because he doesn’t take any corporate money,” Rousey said. “I don’t think politicians should be allowed to take money for their campaigns from outside interests.”

Ronda Rousey said she’s often drawn to third-party candidates – she said she voted for Roseanne Barr in 2012.

Republican candidate Donald Trump dropped Rousey’s name in a conversation a few months ago, saying the champ “likes me.” Rousey responded on CNN: “I wouldn’t vote for him.”

Rousey has more than politics to worry about this week, as she defends her UFC bantamweight title against Holly Holm this Saturday in Melbourne, Australia.
