Ronda Rousey: Former UFC champion Opens Up About Suicidal Thoughts on The Ellen DeGeneres Show

Ronda Rousey says she thought about killing herself in the immediate aftermath of her knockout loss to Holly Holm in November.

She told Ellen DeGeneres she became suicidal after Holly Holm knocked her out during a fight and took her title. However, the current Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model says one thing helped her recover.

Sports Illustrated calls its newest cover girl Ronda Rousey a cultural phenomenon who is the perfect combination of beauty, brains, brawn, and humility. Before the sports mag painted a swimsuit on the former UFC champ, Rousey stunned the sporting world, by losing a fight.

She tells Ellen, at her lowest, she thought of suicide.

Rousey said, “I was sitting in the corner and I was like what am I anymore if I am not this? I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself and that exact second I’m like ‘I’m nothing, what do I do anymore?”

“To be honest I looked up and I saw my man Travis was standing up there and I looked up at him and I was like, I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive,” said Rousey.

“There are a lot of people out there that have thoughts like that and they are looking at you going, wow, if she could have thoughts like that, um so you just did a lot of good for a lot of people,” said Ellen.

“Being defeated is a choice everybody has losses in their life, but I choose to always be undefeated,” said Rousey.
