Roberto Martinez-Marinero Brother Body Found in Elkhorn River in Omaha

Dumpster Boy's Brother : Body found in river is likely missing Neb. boy

Roberto Martinez-Marinero’s Brother’s Body Found In River, Josue’s Family Devastated.

THE body of a missing five-year-old boy has been found, nearly a week after his older brother confessed to murdering their mother and abandoning their baby brother in a dumpster.

Police said Josue Ramirez-Marinero’s body was found stuck in tree branches in the Elkhorn River in Omaha, Nebraska, on Monday morning, Omaha.com reported.

His 25-year-old brother, Roberto Martinez-Marinero, told police officers last week he’d ripped a sleeping Josue from his car seat and threw him off a bridge into the river.

“These are the kind of cases that never leave you,” Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine said. “Words don’t adequately describe the sadness and gravity and senselessness when something like this happens to a child.”

According to authorities, Martinez-Marinero and his mother, Jesus Ismenia Marinero, had been arguing about money in the weeks before the alleged murders.

The fighting escalated on either May 5 or 6, when Jesus Ismenia Marinero slapped her son.

A furious Martinez-Marinero lashed out, allegedly bashing his mother with a baseball bat and stabbing her up to 20 times.

Police said Martinez-Marinero, with the help of his girlfriend Gabriela Guevara, dumped his mother’s body in a ditch before dumping his 11-month-old half-brother, Angel Ramirez-Marinero, in a green bin. He then threw Josue into the river.

Authorities said Martinez-Marinero wanted to eliminate witnesses, Omaha.com reported.

Martinez-Marinero has been charged with first-degree murder, while 24-year-old Gabriela Guevara was charged on Friday with assisting a homicide.

The couple reportedly have two children of their own.

Guevara faces up to 55 years in prison, while Martinez-Marinero faces life behind bars or the death penalty.

The shocking story came to light on Wednesday last week when an alert neighbour found baby Angel, alone and crying, in a dumpster in La Vista.

“Very disturbing, very upsetting and I couldn’t believe what I saw,” the unidentified neighbour said.

“I went and looked on the inside the dumpster and I seen a little hand with an empty water bottle moving.”

Police said a garbage truck was scheduled to unload the dumpster the next day and it’s likely Angel would have died in the crush.
