Rikers Inmates Save Guard : Prisoners Saved A Female Guard From Sexual Assault

A group of inmates at Rikers Island prison in New York saved a female guard from being raped after she was trapped inside a watch post with another inmate who was attacking her.

Raleek Young, 27, was reportedly locked inside a vestibule with the unnamed officer in the Anna M. Kross Center when he dragged her into a nearby bathroom and blocked her escape.

Then, Young – who is 5-foot-9 and weighs 290 pounds – allegedly pulled his pants down and began to masturbate while choking the officer. The criminal complaint also states that Young ripped off the guard’s sweater and “placed his lips on her mouth and about her face.”

“That was when other inmates started tearing away Plexiglass windows on the outside of the watch-post. Once enough of the Plexiglass was stripped down, a skinny inmate was able to get through a crack and unlock the door,” details The Inquisitr.

Several inmates than flooded into the space and took down Young – who is serving a five-to-10-year sentence for raping a 13-year-old girl in 2007 — until other officers arrived.

Young was apparently able to get inside the “bubble-like” area after claiming he needed to pick up a mattress in another unit and pass through the watch post, the Daily News details.

Correction Department spokeswoman Eve Kessler reportedly said, “The matter is under investigation.”
