The UFC returns to pay-per-view action this weekend, and their latest event is certainly one of the best cards of 2018.
Headlining UFC 231 is a men’s featherweight title fight between champion Max Holloway and Brian Ortega, which takes place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada.
The pair were scheduled to face another at UFC 226 in July, but the eagerly-anticipated bout was cancelled as Holloway began suffering from ‘concussion-like symptoms’.
In the co-main event of the evening, dynamic strikers Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Valentina Shevchenko will fight for the vacant women’s flyweight title, which Nicco Montano was stripped of in September.
Jedrzejczyk will have the opportunity to avenge her three Muay Thai losses to Shevchenko and become the first female fighter in UFC history to hold titles in two weight classes.
UFC 231 also features a light-heavyweight bout between London’s Jimi Manuwa and Thiago Santos and the return of fan-favourite Gunnar Nelson, who takes on Alex Oliveira.
The penultimate UFC pay-per-view card of the year is without a doubt a stacked one, making it a must watch for casual and avid fans.
