Paul Pogba: Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho delivers major ultimatum after Fulham win | Football | Sport

Pogba was an unused substitute for Manchester United today as they beat Fulham 4-1 at Old Trafford.

And the World Cup winner was a frustrated figure on the bench as United produced one of their best displays of the season.

Mourinho and Pogba have clashed throughout the season with the manager unable to consistently get the best out of the midfielder.

After the match, Mourinho confirmed Pogba will start against Valencia on Wednesday.

But when asked what Pogba had to do to get back into the team, he replied: “He has to play with the same mentality that the team has been playing with.

“Paul can be a fantastic player. He has the potential to be a fantastic player.”

Mourinho then hailed young right-back Diogo Dalot for his display.

He said: “I am just sorry he came with surgery and then recovered and came back injured from the national team only start playing football in December.

“He’s 19 not to forget and not to demand super consistency from him he just arrived in Premier League arrived after just 5 games in the Portuguese league.

“Everyone knows he has great potential and probably the same age, I don’t like to compare especially the number of titles, but same age as Gary Neville when he came through to first team and probably he can follow Neville in this dynamic as more than 10 years as United’s right back.”

United face Valencia on Wednesday in the Champions League and they have already qualified for the knockout stages.

And Mourinho confirmed he will rest players for the game in Spain.

He said: “We need to rest players.

“These last two matches Arsenal and today, today was really strong.

“We go to Valencia there are some that need to rest, some need to play.

“A question of trust and a question of justice too.

“So if I saw Romero plays, or he deserves to play, if I say a kid that is working like a tiger and is not playing much like Andreas Pereira is going to have a start, I’m going to make changes in the team because we have qualified.”
