LeBron James: Allen Iverson weights into GOAT debate and makes HUGE Michael Jordan claim | Other | Sport

It is a debate that has raged in recent years, with James entering the twilight years of a career that draws striking similarities with Jordan.

Both are 14-time NBA all stars and have been named MVP in three all-star games.

However, Philadelphia 76ers legend Iverson believes there is only one choice in the crowning of NBA’s best-ever player.

Writing in the Players’ Trubune, he said: “Alright, I have to weigh in on this GOAT conversation.

“I have to. I’m hearing a lot of people these days fronting like they have LeBron over Mike!!

“Man, listen. First of all, I love LeBron. I have nothing but love for LeBron.

“That’s the best player of his generation, one of the best ever, a great husband, great father, great role model, and it’s even beyond that.

“What he’s doing with that school in Akron?? It’s a beautiful thing.

“But y’all. We’re talking about Mike. We’re talking about Mike, O.K.??

“We’re talking about Black Jesus himself.

“And I don’t really have much more to say beyond that. Mike is the GOAT.

“Mike is always going to be the GOAT. And please don’t even insult me with any of this “stats, AI!” business, like you have a chance of changing my mind.”

Iverson played against Jordan in the early part of his career and got to witness his skills first hand.

Jordan finished his career averaging 30.1 points while shooting 49.7 per cent from the field with Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards.

James averages 27.2 points per game as it stands and recently became the only player to score more than 50 points in a single game for thee different franchises.
