The Gunners were held to a goalless draw against Sporting Lisbon yesterday in the Europa League, however, they were back on the training field on Friday in preparation to take on Wolves this weekend.
The likes of Hector Bellerin, Alexandre Lacazette and Lucas Torreira were put through their paces under the watchful eye of boss Unai Emery during a session at London Colney.
Emery’s men worked on some build-up drills and passing moves before practicing their finishing in front of goal.
While the squad looked to be in high spirits, Emery will be without Danny Welbeck and Stephan Lichtsteiner for the Premier League game on Sunday.
Welbeck is expected to be sidelined for some time after being taken to hospital after sustaining a serious ankle injury in the first half against Sporting.
The north London side confirmed Welbeck is still in hospital after suffering the “significant” injury
“Danny remains in hospital and will continue to be assessed,” the club said.
“A further update will be issued over the next 72 hours.”
Emery will be going up against old foe Nuno Espirito Santo when Wolves visit the Emirates.
The pair faced each other in La Liga when Emery was in charge of Sevilla while his Portuguese opponent was Valencia boss.
“He’s a good coach with experience,” Emery said of Nuno.
“Every coach from Portugal, in my experience, is very competitive and they are very organised coaches.
“They have discipline but also talented players, like at Wolves.
“I know that each match here is very difficult and we need to prepare so that we can continue to get better to produce a big performance every day.
“It’s about thinking of the next match after finishing the game in the Europa League.
“Then what’s very important is the Premier League and to complete our process and our progress to be in the best position.”
