Princess Cristina and her husband Inaki Urdangarin have been given permission by a judge to sell their luxurious Barcelona mansion.

But they must deposit 2.4 million euros ($2.7 million) of the proceeds with the court to cover possible fines if she is convicted of tax fraud or he is convicted of fraud and money laundering.

Investigative magistrate Jose Castro on Thursday gave the go-ahead for the 7 million-euro-mansion sale by lifting the lien he imposed on the property.

Princess Cristina, 49, was indicted in December as part of a four-year probe into Urdangarin’s business dealings.
