Pauley Perrette: 'NCIS' actress attacked outside LA home

Actress Pauley Perrette, known for her role as forensic scientist Abby Sciuto on “NCIS,” tweeted Friday that she was attacked by a “psychotic homeless man” outside of her Hollywood home.

Los Angeles police officials told E! News they arrested a 45-year-old man for suspicion of felony assault, after receiving the call around 5:15 p.m. The suspect is being held in lieu of $100,000.

The actress tweeted about the alleged assault Friday morning, saying she was “jumped by a VERY psychotic homeless man,” who “grabbed me so forcefully, pinned my arm, punched me in the nose, forehead repeatedly telling me he was going to kill me.”

Perrette was alone and on her way to meet an architect she hired to help her design a new space she recently bought.

She said the man kept telling her his name was William and “don’t forget that.”

“I knew I couldn’t overcome him,” Perrette wrote. “I prayed my heart out and then finally said, ‘William is a beautiful name. I have a little nephew named William.'”

After he finally let her go, she said she called a neighbor and a friend who is a police officer.

After the attack, Perrette called for more help for the mentally ill and homeless.

“My life changed tonight. My … I don’t know,” she wrote. “We need full mental health care. We need housing and help for the homeless. We need to support our cops. We need to not walk alone. I need to heal.”

“I almost died tonight,” she wrote.
