Pattie Boyd, Ex-Wife of George Harrison and Eric Clapton, Marries Longtime Boyfriend.

Pattie Boyd tied the knot in a simple ceremony at Kensington and Chelsea register office in west London.

Her new husband, property developer Rod Weston, joked that it was “about time” the couple got married after a 25-year relationship.

He said: “We’ve had our ups and downs but it just seemed the right thing to do.”

Ms Boyd, 71, the inspiration for several famous ballads penned by her former husbands, said she was “very happy”.

Her mother and sister both attended the ceremony, together with relatives, friends and the couple’s dog, before heading off for lunch at a West End hotel.

Ms Boyd, a former model, married George Harrison in 1966 and was with him during the heyday of Beatlemania.

She met him on the set of the Beatles film A Hard Day’s Night and he went on to write the love song Something for her. They later divorced.

Eric Clapton fell in love with Ms Boyd and wrote the songs Layla and Wonderful Tonight in her honour.

They wed in 1979 but that marriage too ended in heartache and the couple split up.

Ms Boyd, a celebrated beauty in the 1960s, was photographed by David Bailey and Terence Donovan and appeared on the cover of Vogue. She went on to become a photographer herself.
