Nohemi Gonzalez: Cal State Long Beach student killed in Paris terror attacks

Nohemi Gonzalez, a California State University student, was killed in the Paris attacks, it was announced on Saturday.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Nohemi Gonzalez, 23, was a Cal State Long Beach junior who was studying design in Paris for a semester.

Michael LaForte, a lecturer at the university, reported the sad news on his Facebook page.

Yesterday, one of our students and a dear friend to many classmates, Nohemi Gonzalez, was senselessly murdered by ISIS cowards in Paris. Our hearts are with her close friends and family.

A vigil will be held in the student’s memory Sunday afternoon.

The school released a statement regarding the incident.

“I’m deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Long Beach State University student Nohemi Gonzalez. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this sad time,” said President Jane Close Conoley. “Our university stands with our nearly eighty foreign exchange students from France as they struggle with this tragedy. We will extend all support necessary to comfort them. We will also extend support to all students, faculty and staff who are in need.
