NFL Jets running back Chris Johnson injured in shooting

NFL running back and Olympia High School graduate Chris Johnson was injured in a drive-by shooting in Orlando, according to reports.

Johnson, 29, was recently released by the New York Jets. He was one of three people shot in a shooting about 4 a.m. at Southland Boulevard and South Orange Blossom Trail.

Investigators said the three men were stopped at a traffic signal when another vehicle drove up and shots were fired into the Jeep Cherokee that the victims were inside.

Officials said Reggie Johnson, 28, and Chris Johnson, 29, suffered gunshot wounds and were hospitalized in stable condition. Another man, Dreekius Johnson, 28, was in the driver’s seat of the Jeep and died.

Chris Johnson formerly played for the Tennessee Titans, East Carolina University and Olympia High School in Orlando.
