Merle Haggard has been forced to postpone a few California shows this week after coming down with pneumonia.
According to a post on his Facebook page, Merle Haggard checked himself into a California hospital earlier this week. So far, the illness has caused the postponement of his upcoming dates in Palm Desert, CA, Riverside, CA, Oakland, CA and Wendover, NV. Makeup dates for these moved dates have yet to be announced.
The post goes on to say that Merle Haggard “hopes to be well enough to play his dates” scheduled in Las Vegas, Beverly Hills and Lemore, CA next week.
Hopefully, 78-year-old Merle Haggard will make a speedy recovery in time to close out the remainder of his 2015 tour dates.
Earlier this year, Merle Haggard and his tour mate Willie Nelson had to sideline the first few dates of their highly-anticipated Django and Jimmie Tour after Nelson underwent a stem cell operation meant to improve his lung functions.
Just a few weeks ago, Merle Haggard surprised attendees of the Grand Ole Opry’s 90th birthday celebration by playing a set of some of his biggest hits, including “I Think I’ll Just Stay Here and Drink,” and “The Fightin’ Side of Me.”
