Marshawn Lynch Fined $20,000 For Obscene Gesture

Marshawn Lynch has been fined $20,000 for the obsene gesture he made while scoring a touchdown in the NFC Championship Game.

Lynch made the gesture at the end of his touchdown in the fourth quarter of the game. Lynch made a similar gesture as he dove into the end zone after his 79-yard touchdown run in the Seahawks’ 35-6 win against the Arizona Cardinals Dec. 21. Lynch was fined $11,050 for the act.

Lynch is likely to face yet another fine for failing to make himself available to the media following the championship game. ESPN reports that the NFL is considering fining Lynch “significantly more” than the $100,000 he was fined in November for the championship game snub.

With three consecutive days of mandatory media availability events scheduled during the week leading up to the Super Bowl Feb. 1, Lynch’s wallet could take a significant hit if he blows off the required media appearances, with the league warning him that the fines will increase with each violation.
