Maksim Chmerkovskiy officially put a ring on it when he proposed to girlfriend and fellow “Dancing with the Stars” pro Peta Murgatroyd this past Saturday night—basically cementing the pair’s cutest-couple-of-all-time status.
“Maks proposed to Peta onstage in front of 1,500 people following their performance of SWAY in Miami last night,” Sunday’s statement read. “It was an incredible experience for Maks and Peta to be surrounded by their family, close friends and fans who shared in their happiness.”
“For years I knew Peta is the one for me. She is the perfect fit with my family and she has made me a very happy man,” Chmerkovskiy, who designed a custom Cantamessa engagement ring for his bride-to-be, is quoted as saying in the statement. “I couldn’t have been more surprised.”
“Maks’ romantic proposal is something I will cherish for the rest of my life. I’m excited for the next chapter in our lives and to plan the wedding of my dreams with Maks,” adds Peta.
She said ‘yes,’” Maksim posted on Instagram on Saturday, along with a picture of the proposal.
The DWTS season-18 champ, 35, and Murgatroyd, 29, first dated for 10 months in 2012 and 2013. They reunited earlier this year.
Chmerkovskiy was previously engaged to his DWTS co-star Karina Smirnoff in 2009, and has also been linked to model Kate Upton.
SWAY features Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd, as well as Maksim’s brother Val, fellow DWTS pro Tony Dovolani and two of the show’s alums, Meryl Davis and Rumer Willis.
