Luke Bryan cancels CMT appearance after another death in the family, His brother-in-law Ben Lee Cheshire passed away at just 46 years-old on Saturday. He was the widower of Luke’s sister Kelly, who died in 2007. The death leaves the couple’s three teenage children without parents.

CMT released a statement via Facebook Tuesday that “Our condolences go out to Luke Bryan and his family after the recent death of his brother-in-law. Luke won’t be at tonight’s AOTY, but we will still honor him in a very special way” during the telecast. The “Crash My Party” singer is said to be with family members in Georgia.

In addition to the loss of his sister just when he was starting to achieve success, Bryan’s older brother Chris was killed in a car accident when the country singer was just 19-years-old.
