LeBron James Lakers defeat, just suffered the worst loss of his NBA.
LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers just suffered the worst loss of his NBA career under the hands of the Indiana Pacers.
On Tuesday, the Pacers cruised to a 42-point win over the Lakers, 136-94. This deficit, according to NBA on ESPN, is the worst loss by a James-led team when he plays.
Right off the bat, the Lakers looked bad on the defensive end. There were various missed rotations, lazy contests, and pure lack of effort of running down the floor to play defense.
James himself had 18 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds in 30 minutes. He was subbed out at the two-minute mark of the third quarter and never returned as the Pacers continued draining basket after basket.
As a team, the Pacers shot lights out from every part of the floor. They took advantage of the Lakers’ lackluster defense and shot 56.6 percent from the field and 55.9 percent from the 3-point line or 19-of-34.
The blowout comes in after recent news of the failed trade talks between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Lakers. According to various reports, the Lakers pulled out of the deal as the Pelicans’ demands were downright ‘outrageous.’
The series of bad news has now placed the Lakers under a microscope.
Given their current line up, can the purple and gold turn things around as James continues to grow old?
