Kurt Angle Hospitalized : Wrestler has emergency spine surgery

Kurt Angle Hospitalized? former WWE champion and 1996 Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle won’t be appearing at UK Comic Con in London this weekend. The good news: the medical emergency he just experienced could’ve been a lot worse.

Kurt Angle, 46, was rushed to a hospital for emergency surgery to alleviate a fluid buildup on his spinal cord, his management team revealed on his official Twitter account (@RealKurtAngle) on Thursday, July 16 Manila time.

Kurt Angle had surgery last week to remove a benign tumor from his neck, but the surgery had complications.

“Yesterday while Mr Angle was preparing for his travel to the UK for Comic Con he was experiencing sever (sic) pain, he lost feeling in his extremities, and starting to have some difficulty breathing,” tweets on Angle’s account read.

Angle’s wife Giovanni brought him to the hospital where it was revealed that he was suffering from a condition that could be fatal if untreated.

The surgery went well, the account reads, and Angle is expected to recover fully.

Kurt Angle was a part of World Wrestling Entertainment from 1998-2006 before signing with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Angle’s sixth reign as TNA champion ended last month when he lost the title to Ethan Carter III to make time for the tumor surgery.
