Josh Donaldson made one of the greatest catches you’ll see today in at the Trop. Oh right, it kept Marco Estrada’s bid for a perfect game alive in the eighth inning … temporarily.
With no outs in the eighth inning, Donaldson ran and dove — Derek Jeter style — several rows into the stands to snare David DeJesus’ foul pop.
One batter later, Donaldson made another fine play, barehanding Logan Forsythe’s bouncer down the line and firing to first. But Forsythe barely beat the throw (a call confirmed by replay review), giving the Rays their first baserunner of the game.
