The 114 kg WWE superstar John Cena has always been in the news with his feats of unparalleled strength. This time, Cena posted a tweet that showed him squatting close to 600 pounds. He also added a caption along with the video that read, ‘The speed of life gives us chances to make excuses. Define goals, take a pause, and realize you can move mountains.’

He works extremely hard to maintain his superstar body. Weight training is Cena’s number one priority. He once said that weight training is like playing golf for him. He always lifts extremely heavy weights and once every six weeks – aims to hit a new maximum. Did you know he can bench-press 450 pounds? Here are John Cena’s fitness secrets.

Get warmed up with a bit of cardio and some stretching.

Now, stand with your feet shoulder-width apart

Try and keep your feet as parallel and straight as possible. It is fine if your

feet are turned outwards slightly, but it shouldn’t be more than 15 degrees.

Keeping your arms straight out. Then lower yourself by bending the knees.

Make sure you are sticking your bottom out and leaning forward at the waist (imagine you are going to sit on a chair).

Now squat till your thighs are parallel to the ground and then come back to the original position.

Make sure to always keep looking ahead. Do not drift your knees forward over your toes and keep it aligned to your ankles throughout the movement.

Perform at least do at least 20 reps of 3 sets.

If you are a beginner, first perform the squats without weights and once you’re comfortable with body-weight squats you could switch to doing squats with weights.
