Jo-Wilfried Tsonga stopped his match against Australian Omar Jasika to help a ball girl who had been hit in the face with a ball, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.
The young girl started crying after being hit in the face by a tennis ball and Tsonga noticed her distress.
The kind-hearted player immediately stopped play to go and comfort her.
He called for assistance and then took the balls she was holding from her and walked her off the court.
What a sweetheart.
The crowd gave Tsonga a round of applause for his chivalrous behaviour, but afterwards he played down the incident.
“I saw she was in trouble,” Tsonga told abc.
“It was normal to help her out of the stadium. I hope she’s OK.
“To be honest I didn’t do anything special.”
