Jimmy Graham: Seattle Seahawks Tight End out for season with torn patellar tendon

Jimmy Graham suffered a torn patellar tendon in Seattle’s thrilling 39-30 win over the Steelers.

Jimmy Graham will undergo surgery after suffering a patellar tendon tear in the second half of Seattle’s 39-30 home win. The former New Orleans Saints tight end had been jelling with the Seattle offense in recent weeks and grabbed four catches for 75 yards today before falling awkwardly in the end zone on a deep pass attempt.

“We’re gonna miss the heck out of him for the rest of the season,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said.

Jimmy Graham’s injury was a downbeat note in an otherwise jubilant day for Seattle, who kept their playoff hopes alive. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson threw five touchdown passes, including three to Doug Baldwin.

Seattle’s defense forced four Steelers interceptions, including a game-sealing pick in the closing minutes off of quarterback Landry Jones.

Ben Roethlisberger torched Seattle for 456 passing yards with two interceptions before being taken to the locker room for concussion protocol.
