Idaho: Drug suspect dialed 911 during deal - Details

Police in Idaho arrested a Portland man in after he accidentally dialed 911 during a drug deal.

Lawan Sanders, 38, is charged with possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, trafficking in cocaine or a mixture in excess of 28 grams but fewer than 200 grams and possession of a controlled substance.

Court records show dispatchers overheard three men talking about selling drugs. They triangulated the call and officers arrived at the location to find three men standing by a car.

Police found marijuana on one of the men. Officers also reportedly found pot inside the car.

Two men, from Shelley, Idaho, said Sanders told them he would sell them marijuana at a hotel where he and his girlfriend were staying. Police got a search warrant for that hotel room and found marijuana and other drugs.

Sanders and his girlfriend, Charity Fournier, were booked into Bonneville County Jail. They have posted bond.
