Houston Texans at Dallas Cowboys : NFL Week 5 preview

The Dallas Cowboys have emerged as a surprise playoff contender after being counted out by many NFL experts, and they currently hold a 3-1 record. They will seek to improve to 4-1 against the Houston Texans.

The offense put on a clinic against the New Orleans Saints by scoring 38 points. Running back DeMarco Murray continued to steamroll through the competition with 149 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries. Quarterback Tony Romo threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns on 22-of-29 passing.

The defense also did surprisingly well as it only allowed the Saints to score 17 points, and 14 of those points came in garbage time in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, the Texans recovered from their first loss of the season with a win against the Buffalo Bills, and their defense continued to shine as defensive end J.J. Watt returned an interception 80 yards for a touchdown.

Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick had a shaky performance as he threw for 268 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions, and the Texans’ running game was virtually non-existent as Fitzpatrick led the team in rushing with 14 yards.

Running back Arian Foster is probable for Week 5, but it remains to be seen if he can return to full form.

The Cowboys have a superior offense to the Texans, but the Texans defense will keep them in the game. However, being on the road and having Fitzpatrick as their quarterback will cost them.
