Hipster Cafe attacked by mob as 'anti-gentrification' protests turns violent

Anti-gentrification activists attacked a café specialising in breakfast cereal, which is seen as the epitome of “hipster” culture.

Customers were forced to barricade themselves inside as the group outside threw paint at the café and wrote “scum” on the windows.

The protest organisers tweeted their justification for the attack: “£5 for cereal when people are starving”.

Cereal Killer owner Alan Keery said children were inside the premises when the protesters gathered outside and were left terrified by the scenes. He told the Evening Standard the protesters had “torches and pigs heads.”

Called “F*** Parade” on its website, the group that organised the protest claimed London communities ae being “ripped apart by Russian oligarchs, Saudi Sheiks, Israeli scumbag property developers, Texan oil-money twats and our own home-grown Eton toffs.”

10 riot vans responded to the disturbances, with reports of clashes between police and protesters. The Cereal Killers café will be open as normal today, with the owners Tweeting on Sunday morning:
