Gwen Jorgensen Grab Second Podium Sweep Of 2015 At World Triathlon London

Gwen Jorgensen raced to her 10th straight ITU World Triathlon Series victory Sunday, leading a U.S. sweep for the second time this season.

Jorgensen used her signature run speed to claim victory in 55 minutes, 45 seconds on the 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike, 5-kilometer run course. Jorgensen now owns 13 WTS titles, and she has won every WTS race she has started since May 2014. Jorgensen retains the No. 1 ranking in the rankings with 4,000 points.

“It still seems weird,” Jorgensen said of her streak. “It seems weird when people say that. Really all I can do is focus on what I can control every race, and I can’t control if someone beats me one day. I just try to go out there and execute on the swim, bike, and run.”

Katie Zaferesof Hampstead, Md., kept her No. 2 world ranking, finishing second in 56:06. Zaferes has earned a medal in each of the five WTS races she has started in 2015. Sarah Trueof Hanover, N.H., rounded out the U.S. podium sweep, taking third place in 56:07.
