Grayson Divorce : Dem Rep. Accuses Estranged Wife of Bigamy

Bomb throwing Democratic Congressman Alan Grayson is in the midst of a nasty, nasty divorce case win which he has accused his wife of bigamy while she counters with accusations of financial abandonment.

Grayson, D-Orlando, insists that she is, that she was married to a U.S. soldier in the Philippines in 1980 and did not get a divorce until several years after she married Grayson, a wealthy lawyer, in 1990.

Grayson’s lawyers say that man filed for a divorce in Broward County in 1993, and it was finalized in 1994.

Grayson insists that he did not know about that marriage until after they separated last year.

Lolita Grayson, in a previously filed affidavit, says she “was and still am of the belief I divorced [her previous husband] in 1981.”

The couple married April 28, 1990.

Lolita Grayson filed for divorce in January, saying their marriage “is irretrievably broken.”
