Fox Host Stacey Dash ‘appalled’ by Patricia Arquette’s Oscars speech on gender pay equality

“To every woman who gave birth to every taxpayer and citizen of this nation,” she said, “we have fought for everybody else’s equal rights. It’s our time to have wage equality once and for all, and equal rights for women in the United States of America.”

Arquette expanded on her thoughts after the telecast by insisting that it is “inexcusable” that there aren’t “equal rights for women in America”.

Dash, who is now a Fox News pundit, accused Arquette of being ignorant on the topic during an appearance on Fox & Friends.

“I was appalled. I could not believe it,” she said. “First of all, Patricia Arquette needs to do her history.

“In 1963, [President] Kennedy passed an equal pay wall. It’s still in effect. I didn’t get the memo that I didn’t have any rights.”

Dash went on to condemn celebrities for promoting political causes during the Oscars ceremony, insisting that she misses the “glamour” of past decades.

The actress joined Fox News as a political contributor last spring, after publicly coming out against US president Barack Obama in the 2012 presidential election.
