Russian Footballer Blows His Nose With Banknote Worth £60.
Stanislav Manayev, who plays for FC Chertanovo Moscow in the Russian third tier – the equivalent to League One in England and Wales.
In a video filmed on a plane, the 19-year-old midfielder is handed a wad of cash and says, ‘I could give this money to people in great need, but I’m not going to do it because I have snot.
The laughing sportsman then blows his nose with a 5,000 roubles note – worth around £60 – before throwing it on the floor.
A clip of the stunt was uploaded to Instagram, and users bombarded the teenager with messages disapproving of his actions.
Russia’s sports minister Pavel Kolobkov has waded into the argument too and the video has since been deleted.
‘There is no doubt that the video points to the low cultural level of that player. I am sure it will serve as a lesson,’ he said, according to Marca.
Manayev was also slammed by the head of the organizing committee of the 2018 World Cup, Alexei Sorokin.
He said the footballer needed a ‘heavy clip around the ear’ and that this behaviour did not reflect the Russian national team.
