Eagles replace Tim Tebow with former Jaguars QB Stephen Morris

The Philadelphia Eagles signed ex-Jacksonville quarterback Stephen Morris as their third quarterback after trading third year quarterback Matt Barkley to the Cardinals and releasing quarterback Tim Tebow. Signing Morris was the most confusing move of the three.

The Eagles are now at the 53-man active roster limit and have its third quarterback following the release of Tim Tebow yesterday. Head coach Chip Kelly said Saturday the team was going to add a third quarterback to its roster.

Morris, 6-2, 218-pounds, signed with Jacksonville as a undrafted free agent after the 2014 NFL Draft. He spent last year on the practice squad and was with the Jags throughout the preseason before being released on Friday. Morris completed 16 of 25 passes for 160 yards and one touchdown in the Jaguars final preseason game. He played college football at the University of Miami.
