Dwayne Johnson made a surprise visit to a children’s hospital in Savannah, thus making an important health statement. The increasing health problems among children worldwide are a matter of growing concern, prompting several celebrities to join the cause of their health protection.
The actor and wrestler was at the facility to film Baywatch, his comedic film adaptation of the hit television series. But on Saturday, Dwayne Johnson revealed on Instagram that he spent his time at the medical center doing more than just acting. Along with a photo of himself fist-bumping a little boy in a hospital hallway, he wrote, “I surprised the children at Savannah’s Pediatric Specialty Ward aaaaand look at the concentration on lil’ Aiden’s face!”
“We shot #BAYWATCH scenes at Memorial Health Hospital and thought I’d pop up to the ward. Awesome experience and THANK YOU to all the hard working and caring staff who helped make this visit possible,” Johnson went on. “To all the kids I met — you guys keep smiling and staying strong. All the mamas and daddy’s I met, y’all stay strong too.”
The star added, “Gotta tell ya little stuff like this will always be the best part of fame. And good Lord I wish I had Aiden’s concentration when I was in my high school math classes. I wouldn’t have failed Algebra twice.”
Memorial Health’s social media pages haven’t mention Johnson meeting with the children, though news stories informed residents in advance that the production would be at the hospital throughout Friday. It’s unclear if the movie’s other stars, including Zac Efron, were also there. See the full photo below!
