Don Vito: ‘Jackass’ Favorite “Vincent Margera” Dead at 59

'Don Vito' on MTV's 'Jackass' and 'Viva La Bam' has died at 59 years old

Vincent “Don Vito” Margera, best known for his appearances on MTV’s “Jackass” died early Sunday, Bam’s agent confirmed. He was 59.

Vincent “Don Vito” Margera also appeared on Viva La Bam and was the uncle of Bam Margera, who led the show. He was often a favourite target of pranks on Jackass and also appeared in the series’ movies.

According to TMZ, the reality star died on Sunday morning of liver and kidney failure.

In later years, Margera encountered serious legal and personal troubles, when he was found guilty of sexual assault on a child on two counts and sentenced to ten years on probation. The ruling, made in 2007, also forced him to give up his Don Vito alter ego, which he had obtained due to his speech likenesses to The Godfather’s Don Vito Corleone.

As a result of his arrest, which was for groping two teenage girls at an autograph signings, Margera’s scenes were removed from the theatrical release of Jackass Number Two

In 2011, Jackass lost another cast member when Ryan Dunn died in a car accident at the age of 34.
