Diddy arrested after fight with UCLA football coach - Watch

Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested at the athletic facilities of UCLA on Monday and charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of making terrorist threats, and one count of battery after an alleged assault of a coach for the school’s football team, the school said in a statement.

TMZ first reported the arrest, alleging that Diddy got into a heated confrontation with a U.C.L.A. football coach after the rapper saw him “screaming intensely” at his son. A source told the outlet that Diddy approached the coach in his office “and grabbed him.”

The Associated Press had confirmed that Diddy was arrested at U.C.L.A.’s Acosta Athletic Training Complex on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon around 12:30 P.M. The weapon in question was a kettlebell, which is a piece of weight-lifting equipment. Although officials did not specify the victim of the alleged assault, they did confirm that no one was seriously injured and that campus police are investigating the incident.

In a statement released late Monday afternoon, U.C.L.A. football coach Jim Mora thanked his employees. “I’m thankful that our staff showed the level of professionalism that they did in handling this situation,” he said. “This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved. While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time.”

Per the Los Angeles Times, “Combs was booked into the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Inmate Reception Center by 7:37 P.M. Combs had posted bail and was released at 9:50 M.M., authorities said.”

Justin Combs is a redshirt junior defensive back on the U.C.L.A. Bruins football team. On Sunday, Justin posted an Instagram showing how he and Diddy were celebrating Father’s Day—with a father-son flag-football game.
